In Life, Everyday is Game day!
Today’s the World Cup Semi-Finals between France and Belgium; both well deserving and qualified to contend for a spot in the World Cup Finals on July 15 in Russia.
This got me reflecting on days as an Athlete, and game days. Everyone has their process of preparation, especially for those special days…game days. We all have events, moments that we view as a day/time that requires some sort of special routine or prep. The reality is, that should be EVERYDAY!
There’s nothing more anyone can do to prepare for today’s game, other than follow their regular disciplines such as stretch, hydrate, meditate, or whatever else is part of his/her routine. The routines we develop on a daily basis prepare us for our “Game Days” in life, so when those moments do show up, we’re prepared to tackle them with the knowledge that you’re ready to take on the challenge. The only way you’ll get the outcome you desire is by consistent practice; the discipline of following a routine develops an instinctive and refined response to challenges…game days!
Today’s outcome will be determined by the team that executes their game plan the best. All preparations for today’s game was well done prior to the beginning of this tournament; it’s now down to the execution and ability to adapt as new challenges arise. My coach often said the more prepared you are, the “luckier” you are.
May the best team win!
